TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -The myBCA application is now accessible on smartwatches, significantly expanding its utility. Jan Hendra, BCA’s Executive Vice President of Transaction Banking Product Development, confirmed that the application enables users to perform balance inquiries, review account transactions, and conduct non-cash transactions utilizing the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), specifically via the Customer Presented Mode or Tap feature.

"Leveraging the smartwatch and this feature, customers can execute payments using QRIS at nearby merchants and seamlessly conduct their transactions," Hendra stated in an official release on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Customers wishing to utilize these services on Internet of Things (IoT) devices must possess an active BCA ID registered on the myBCA mobile application. Currently, this service is only compatible with devices running the WatchOS operating system from Apple and WearOS used by devices like those from Samsung.

Each BCA ID can be linked to only one smartwatch at a time. To perform a transaction, the user's smartphone must be actively connected or paired with the smartwatch.

Jan Hendra also outlined security protocols, stating that users can immediately disconnect device linkages in emergency situations, such as a lost smartwatch. This device termination can be executed via the myBCA mobile application or by contacting Halo BCA to initiate a block on the BCA ID.

Lidya Candra, BCA's Senior Vice President of Customer Touch Point Solution App, assured customers that all data exchange between the phone and the smartwatch is encrypted and transmitted directly through a secure Bluetooth connection, bypassing public networks.

Candra added that if a BCA ID is blocked in an emergency, the user will be prevented from logging into the account or performing transactions on any other device. She concluded, "We hope that myBCA on Smartwatch can become the foundational element for the IoT banking ecosystem in the future."

The private bank further noted growth in its digital channels, reporting that the transaction volume via mobile and internet banking at BCA increased by 19 percent annually as of September 2025. Furthermore, QRIS transactions specifically have seen a remarkable increase of 103 percent over the past year.
