AGO Arrests Bankrupt Textile Giant Sritex Boss in Graft Case

8 hours ago 1

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has arrested the president commissioner of the once-textile giant PT Sri Isman Rejeki, or Sritex, Iwan Setiawan Lukminto. Iwan was arrested in Solo, Central Java, on Tuesday night, May 20, 2025.

"That's correct," confirmed the AGO head of the legal information center, Harli Siregar, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

It was previously known that the AGO investigators had not yet designated a suspect in the alleged graft case involving the issuance of credit facilities from several banks to Sritex.

"That's what we're looking for. That's why we probed various parties to determine whether there was any unlawful conduct or state losses," said Harli Siregar last week.

Sritex was issued credits by several banks, including BNI, BJB, DKI Bank, and Central Java BPD. To this day, the Attorney General's Office has not designated a suspect in the graft case.

Harli said the AGO has been investigating the case since 2024, under investigation order no. Print-62/F/.2/Fd/2/10/2024.

The special crimes unit issued a second investigation order on March 20, 2025, which summoned the accounting manager of PT Senang Kharisma Textile (Sritex Group). AGO also probes a number of regional banks issuing credits to the bankrupt company.

The Attorney General's Office is investigating the case to determine whether the state-owned banks issued loans while Sritex's financial situation was healthy or otherwise.
