TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The playoff round of the 2025/2026 Champions League begins this week, with 14 teams competing for a place in the final stages.
Top European clubs including Benfica, Rangers, Club Brugge, and Celtic are in the mix, battling for seven available slots to join the 29 teams that have already qualified for the tournament.
In the first-leg matches played early Wednesday, August 20, 2025 (WIB), Red Star lost 1-2 to Pafos, Rangers were beaten 1-3 by Club Brugge, and Ferencvaros fell 1-3 to Carabag.
Four more first-leg games are scheduled for Thursday morning, August 21, 2025: Basel vs Copenhagen, Bodo/Glimt vs Sturm Graz, Celtic vs Kairat, and Fenerbahce vs Benfica.
