TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of PT Maharaksa Biru Energy Tbk (OASA) Bobby Gafur Umar stated that the Waste Processing into Electric Energy (PSEL) project in various regions, including South Tangerang (Tangsel) in Indonesia, is set to begin soon. The project is carried out by the subsidiary of OASA, PT Indoplas Energy Hijau, along with its technological partner through the joint venture of PT Indoplas Tianying Energy.

Bobby said that both project executors are ready to start the construction. "PSEL Tangsel has the capacity to process around 1,100 tons of waste per day with an electrical potential of 23-25 MW. The main technology comes from our partner, China Tianying (CNTY), which has proven successful in managing various large-scale WtE facilities worldwide," said the Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a written statement quoted on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Bobby stated that all technical requirements, licensing studies, and construction plans have been prepared to ensure that the execution runs according to international standards.

At the Waste to Energy Investment Forum 2025, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, expressed that PSEL Tangsel is now entering the final stage to be built soon. Zulkifli said that the government aims to maintain the continuity of the national clean energy program.

"Technically, requirements such as land readiness and waste processing capacity have been fulfilled," he said.

The Mayor of Tangerang Selatan, Benyamin Davnie, who also attended as a speaker at the forum, supported the construction of this project in his area. He said the city government has prepared around 5 hectares of land for the PSEL facility in Cipeucang.

"Waste transport trucks have been obtained and there are currently 27 units ready, which will be gradually added as needed. We are consistent in ensuring the region's readiness for PSEL Tangsel," he said.

According to Benyamin, this project is an effort to address waste issues in the long term and bring benefits to the area. He said the city government has appointed the executor of this PSEL project. Based on the Letter of Appointment for the Auction Winner (SPPL) in April 2025, a private consortium will act as the project executor.
