TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Consumer goods company Unilever Indonesia has sold its tea business, SariWangi, to PT Savoria Kreasi Rasa for Rp1.5 trillion. The agreement was signed on January 6, 2026, and the transaction is scheduled for completion on March 2, 2026.

In a disclosure report to the Financial Services Authority, Unilever management stated that the sale enables the company to realize its investment value in the Indonesian tea business and return value to shareholders in the short term. "And focus on the remaining core business of the company to increase value for shareholders in the long term," management wrote, as reported on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Management revealed that the transaction value includes 45 percent of the company's equity based on the financial report as of September 30, 2025. Meanwhile, SariWangi's total assets contribute 2.5 percent to the company's total assets. Furthermore, SariWangi contributes 3.1 percent to the company's net income and 2.7 percent to operating revenue.

"Thus, the transaction is a 'Material Transaction' that does not require approval from the General Meeting of Shareholders as stipulated in Financial Services Authority Regulation No. 17/POJK.04/2020 regarding Material Transactions and Changes to Business Activities," Unilever management stated.

However, Unilever said the transaction must be announced to the public as disclosure information. Management also stated that this sale will not materially impact the company's operational, legal, or business continuity.
