TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Korea-based tech giant Samsung is reportedly going to launch its first batch of triple-folding phones, including the Galaxy Z TriFold, on December 5. The information was first reported by a publication cited by the tech leaker account on social media, Ice Universe.

As cited in the GSM Arena report, the Galaxy Z TriFold is approximately 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 14mm when folded. In comparison, the foldable Galaxy Z Fold7 is 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. Samsung is said to have designed the cover screen with a 6.5-inch diameter and the inner screen with a 10-inch wide screen ratio, differing from the 8-inch square screen of the Z Fold7.

The device is also estimated to carry a 5,600 mAh battery divided into three cells, each placed in each folding segment. This capacity is larger compared to the Z Fold7, which offers a 4,400 mAh battery with two cells.

The South Korean news agency, The Chosun, has also confirmed the launch schedule and circulating specification details. However, the media states that the Z TriFold will be produced by Samsung in limited quantities, priced high, and will only be sold in certain markets.

Samsung has only showcased the prototype of the Galaxy Z TriFold to the public thus far, but the upcoming December release, if the leaks are to be trusted, will soon change that.
