TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid arrived at the Red and White Building of Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) along with the Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Housing and Settlement Areas (PUPR-PKPP) of Riau Province, Arif Setiawan, and the Secretary of PUPR-PKPP Riau, Ferry Yunanda.
The three of them arrived on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at 09:49 AM local time. Based on Tempo's observation, Abdul Wahid was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and black sandals. He and his two subordinates covered their faces with white masks.
Previously, the KPK conducted an arrest operation in Riau. One of the people apprehended in the operation was the Governor of Riau, Abdul Wahid.
"Yes," said KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto when confirmed by Tempo on Monday, 3 November 2025. However, Fitroh has not disclosed the details of the corruption case involving Abdul Wahid.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the KPK team apprehended ten individuals in the Riau arrest operation. He confirmed that all of them are state officials.
"We will update the information regarding those who have been apprehended," said Budi at the Red and White Building of the KPK, South Jakarta, on Monday.
Budi added that the KPK team is still in the field to continue the investigation process. He mentioned that the ten individuals who were apprehended will be taken to the KPK building on Tuesday, 4 November 2025. "The team is still in the field and making progress," said Budi.
