TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rescuers are still searching for 20 missing landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, as the search enters its seventh day.

A total of 60 bodies had been evacuated as of Friday, January 30, 2026. Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Mohammad Syafii said 44 bodies had been identified and had been returned to their families. He emphasized that the data on landslide victims is dynamic, aligning with ongoing field assessments.

"The search and rescue operation will continue throughout the 14-day emergency response period, with support from personnel, ground and air equipment, as well as inter-agency coordination to ensure all victims can be found," said Syafii in a written statement on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of Basarnas, First Admiral Y. Bramantyo N., said that the weather conditions are relatively more conducive compared to the previous rainy days. "Yesterday, search operations were hindered by the weather," Bramantyo said.

To speed up the search, Basarnas has added two PC 200 excavators, which will be focused on opening and shifting landslide material in strategic areas, especially at the borders of sectors A2 and A3.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi previously planned to reforest the area affected by the Cisarua landslide. After the Isra Mi'raj commemoration event at Pakuan Building, Bandung, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Dedi said he would start replanting the area after handling the affected victims of the landslide.

"We will provide Rp25 million for the families of the deceased, we will relocate their houses, and we are giving two months' worth of living expenses," said Dedi.

"Those deceased and buried we will evacuate, and subsequently relocate [residents] and reforest the area. The house construction will be conducted in line with the environment," he added.

When inspecting the Cisarua landslide site on Saturday, January 24, 2026, Dedi saw that the area was filled with vegetable plants. The governor said that with the hilly terrain, the presence of vegetable gardens posed landslide risks, making it highly dangerous for residents. "This area should be reforested. The residents here will be relocated because the potential for landslides is high," said Dedi, as quoted from Antara.

Dedi asked survivors of the landslide to rent houses for two months, with Rp10 million of cash assistance per household for the rent and daily living expenses.
