TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - American investor Ray Dalio has refuted rumors of his resignation as an advisor to the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara). In a joint statement issued on Danantara letterhead numbered PR.09/DI-BP/VI/2025, Dalio affirmed that his partnership with the agency remains unchanged.

"My involvement as an advisor remains the same and has not changed; it is voluntary and unpaid," Dalio said in a written statement received on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He emphasized his continued commitment to serving as an informal advisor to both Danantara's leadership and President Prabowo Subianto.

The Danantara Indonesia Communications Team acknowledged Dalio's valuable guidance and advice to the agency over the past year. "President Prabowo, Ray Dalio, and Danantara Indonesia are all committed to continuing to strengthen sustainable economic growth and unlock the full potential of Indonesia's strategic sectors," the communications team wrote in the joint statement.

Earlier, reports circulated widely that Ray Dalio had resigned from his advisory position at Danantara, with some speculating about personal reasons for his departure.

Pandu Sjahrir, Danantara Chief Information Officer, had previously denied the rumors of Dalio's resignation. "I just met his team last week, including his son, Mark Dalio. The discussion went smoothly," Sjahrir said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Ray Dalio is the founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, which manages assets worth US$124 billion. Dalio has on several occasions offered advice regarding Indonesia's economic conditions. While serving as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan once consulted with Ray Dalio regarding the concept of establishing a family office.
