TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto aims to speed up the development of air transportation infrastructure to improve connectivity between regions. Prabowo hopes that Indonesia will have more international airports. This was conveyed by Prabowo when he led a limited meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Friday, August 1, 2025.
"The President is pushing for the opening of as many international airports as possible in various regions, to drive the acceleration of regional economic turnover and tourism," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement received by Tempo on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Teddy explained that the meeting aimed to discuss and monitor the latest developments of various government programs. The meeting was held in a hybrid manner. Some ministers attended in person, while others joined via video conference. "After performing the Friday prayers, President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet to discuss and monitor the latest developments of various government programs," said Teddy.
In addition to transportation issues, Prabowo also instructed his aides to strengthen measures for wildfire prevention. This is because the hot weather has a high potential to cause wildfires. "The Head of State also gave instructions for prevention measures against the potential occurrence of forest fires due to the hot weather, and discussed developments in the economic, agricultural, and maritime sectors," said Teddy.
