REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), KH Miftah Faqih invites Muslims in Indonesia to close the end of 2025 with religious and prayer activities in mosques as a form of gratitude and admiration for Allah SWT.
According to Kiai Miftah, as a nation founded on the Supreme Godhead, it is appropriate for Indonesians to fill the turn of the year with the religion of nationality. Dhikr, he said, became a spiritual means of thanking all of God's gifts as well as pleading for solutions to the various trials facing the nation.
“As a country ruled by the Almighty, it is appropriate for all the people of Indonesia to live the national religion in gratitude for all the gifts that Allah has poured out to the rest of the country,” Kiai Miftah told Republika.co.id on Monday (29/12/2025).
He affirmed that the dynamics of the life of the nation, both in difficult and happy conditions, is a test that must be met with a spiritual approach. Through prayer and prayer, people are expected to gain inner peace as well as a way out for all elements of society.
“Hard and happy is a test. With Dhikr, God willing, all kinds of distress can be quickly resolved and provide a solution that is valid for all,” he said.
Regarding the National End-of-Year Dhikr, which has been regularly organized by the Republika since decades ago, Kiai Miftah assessed the activity as a positive initiative that deserves to be appreciated. He called the national religion a momentum of mutual introspection in caring for the unity and pride of the nation.
“The decades-long national condemnation is a good deed, reminding all parties to engage in communal introspection in an effort to nurture pride towards the glorious golden Indonesia,” said Kiai Miftah.
As is known, the Republic again held the National Day of the Year 2025 which will be held at the At-Thohir Mosque, Cimanggis, Depok, on Wednesday (31/12/2025). This activity becomes a spiritual momentum to close the year with repentance and welcome the new year with better intentions.
Editor-in-Chief of Republika, Andi Muhyidin, said that Dzikir Nasional is an invitation to Muslims to welcome the turn of the year without excessive euphoria, but with self-reflection, prayer, and social care.
“It is a good tradition initiated by the Republika a long time ago to remember God and face the future with better optimism,” he said on Monday (29/12/2025).
This year, the committee targeted about 3,000 worshippers present at the At-Thohir Mosque. The series of activities will take place from morning until midnight. The event began with Tabligh Akbar at 10.00—14.00 WIB presenting Ustadzah Qotrunnada with the theme “Closing the Year with Repentance, Opening the Year with New Intentions”.
The agenda continued with the “Speak Up Palestine” event entitled Al-Aqsa Stories at 13.00—17:00pm, presenting a number of humanitarian figures and activists such as Husein Gaza, Chiki Fawzi, Annisa Theresia, Bella Fawzi, and Achmad Sudrajat.
The highlight of the event takes place in the evening through the National Night of Dzikir 2025 from 19:30 to 24.00 WIB. A number of habaibis, scholars, and national figures were scheduled to lead the joint dzikir, among them Habib Jindan, KH Zulfa Mustofa, Habib Hamdan Zoelva, KH Cholil Nafis, KH Noor Achmad, Muhadjir Effendy, and Syifa Fauzia.
Through this activity, Republika hopes that the end of the year can be a momentum of joint deliberation, strengthening humanitarian solidarity, and affirming the spiritual commitment of the Indonesian people in entering 2026.
