TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The coach of the Indonesian U-17 national team, Nova Arianto, was quite satisfied with the fighting spirit of his players, despite the 0-4 loss to Brazil in the second match of Group H in the 2025 U-17 World Cup at Aspire Academy, Doha, on Friday, November 7.

"Yes, I am quite happy with their hard work today, because this match was better than our match against Zambia," Nova said after the match, as quoted by Antara.

"And I want the players to continue showing effort like this, and as long as we still have one more game, no matter what, I ask that we can earn three points, so that our chances to qualify for the next round are still open," he said.

Indonesia is left at third place in the temporary standing of Gorup H with 0 point, after conceding to Brazil, and Zambia 1-3 a few days prior.

In the match against Brazil, Nova benched Muhammad Zahaby Gholy and Mierza Firjatullah. Both attackers were only brought in during the second half.

"That was indeed our plan from the beginning, how we saw that Brazil was quite aggressive in attacking, and I saw defensively, Rafi, Evandra were better than Gholi and Mierza, and why I fielded (Adi) Dimas, and Evandra, and Rafi first, because once again we wanted to focus on defense first," said Nova.

"Although in the end we conceded, but with the entry of Mierza, Gholy, Fandi (Ahmad), I say they performed quite well," he said.

The Indonesian U-17 national team will still play the third or final match in Group H, facing Honduras on Monday, November 10. Indonesia still has a chance to qualify for the round of 32 as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
