List of New Government Agencies Formed by Prabowo Subianto

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has continued his drive to form new government agencies.

Most recently, on Monday, August 25, 2025, the government inaugurated the Mineral Industry Authority and the North Coast of Java Authority Management Agency. These two agencies expand the list of new organizations previously formed by Prabowo:

1. Hajj Organizer Authority (Badan Penyelenggara Haji)

Prabowo established the Hajj Organizer Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Haji), led by K.H. Moch. Irfan Yusuf with Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as deputy. Officially formed through Presidential Regulation No. 154 of 2024 on November 5, 2024, the agency is responsible for supporting and ensuring the smooth implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in accordance with regulations.

2. Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Alleviation (BP Taskin)

The Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Alleviation was formed with Budiman Sudjatmiko as head, assisted by deputies Nanik Sudaryati Deyang and Iwan Sumule. Its establishment was announced during the inaugural meeting of the Red and White Cabinet at Merdeka Palace on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Prabowo explained that the agency’s main task is to study and monitor social protection and assistance programs to ensure aid reaches those genuinely in need.

“This agency will study and monitor all social protection programs and aid for people who still require assistance,” he said.

3. Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH)

Although not a new agency, the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) was previously under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. It is now directly accountable to Prabowo, with Haikal Hassan as head and Afriansyah Noor as deputy.

Haikal emphasized that the agency’s repositioning demonstrates the government’s commitment to the faith and the Islamic community.

“This is a manifestation of the commitment of our current government, especially Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to faith, the Islamic community, and the people,” Haikal said during a press conference on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the BPJPH building in Jakarta.

4. Special Development and Investigation Control Agency (BAPPISUS)

Aries Marsudiyanto, a Gerindra cadre and loyalist, was appointed head of the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency (BAPPISUS). His inauguration took place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, alongside 26 other government officials.

According to Prabowo, the agency is tasked with overseeing and monitoring all government programs to strengthen administrative control.

“The Special Development and Investigation Control Agency will monitor all projects that we will launch,” he said during a Plenary Cabinet meeting on October 23, 2024, at the Presidential Office in Jakarta.

5. Danantara (Indonesian Sovereign Investment Fund Management Agency)

On Monday, February 24, 2025, Prabowo established BPI Danantara to manage a US$20 billion (around Rp300 trillion) fund for National Strategic Projects (PSN).

The agency’s board of directors includes Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as CEO, Dony Oskaria as COO, and Pandu Patria Sjahrir as CIO.

Prabowo noted, “Funds that were previously hindered by inefficiency, corruption, and improper spending will now be managed by Danantara and invested in 20 or more national projects as part of industrialization and downstreaming,” during the inauguration at Merdeka Palace.

6. Gold Bank

Prabowo inaugurated a gold bank (bullion bank) at Gade Tower in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. He explained that the bank is projected to boost GDP by Rp245 trillion, create 1.8 million jobs, and expand foreign exchange reserves.

He added that by processing and storing gold domestically, the country can reduce gold outflows abroad.

“Enhancing control of monetary stability through gold liquidity mechanisms at the gold bank and conducting domestic transactions,” he said.

To support the gold bank’s operations, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) issued Regulation No. 17 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Bullion Business Activities.
