TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Environmental Agency Office has sprayed 4,000 liters of water mist at several strategic points across the capital as part of the effort to cut air pollution. This activity is part of the pre-event series for Jakarta Eco Future Fest (JEFF) 2025, which will be held on September 25-26 at Cibis Park, South Jakarta.

The Head of Jakarta Environmental Office, Asep Kuswanto, said the water mist was sprayed in several densely populated areas of Jakarta, starting from Dukuh Atas, TB Simatupang, Fatmawati Street, the area around HI Roundabout, MH Thamrin, and Lapangan Banteng. This method is claimed to help reduce pollutant particles, especially PM2.5, while creating a healthier public space.

"We are striving to suppress the concentration of pollutants and remind residents about the importance of maintaining air quality," said Asep in a written statement on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Additionally, the agency also deployed a mobile videotron displaying educational messages on air pollution control. The residents of Jakarta are encouraged to take simple actions, such as regular vehicle emission tests and switching to public transportation.

Asep emphasized that pollution control cannot rely solely on the government. "The participation of residents, businesses, and communities is crucial to achieve a cleaner, healthier, and sustainable Jakarta," he said.

According to Asep, JEFF 2025 will showcase green innovations, recycling products, and various sustainable business initiatives. Over the course of two days, visitors can participate in discussions, creative workshops, and the "Trash to Treasure" program to exchange waste for environmentally friendly products.

The festival also displays an Eco Market, an environmentally themed virtual reality (VR) experience, community showcases, treasure hunt games, and music performances. "JEFF 2025 is a space to learn, gain inspiration, and celebrate a more environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle," added Asep.
