TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At least 411 Palestinians have been killed and 1,112 others wounded in Israeli attacks in Gaza since a ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, according to Gaza’s government media office.
In a statement cited by Anadolu, the office said it had documented 875 Israeli violations of the ceasefire. These included 265 incidents involving direct gunfire against civilians, 49 military attacks on residential areas, 421 artillery strikes, and 150 cases of house demolitions.
The Gaza media office also accused Israel of failing to meet its humanitarian commitments under the agreement. It said only 17,819 aid trucks had been allowed into Gaza out of the 42,800 shipments stipulated in the ceasefire terms.
“An average of just 244 trucks per day out of the 600 agreed daily, meaning a compliance rate not exceeding 41 percent,” the statement said.
Fuel deliveries have also fallen sharply short of agreed levels. The office said only 394 fuel trucks had entered Gaza out of the 3,650 permitted under the agreement, averaging just five trucks per day compared with the agreed 50.
“This means the occupation has complied with only 10% of the agreed fuel quantities, leaving hospitals, bakeries, and water and sewage stations almost completely out of service, and worsening the daily suffering of civilians,” the statement said.
The media office warned that Gaza is facing a “deep and unprecedented humanitarian crisis,” citing Israel’s continued refusal to open border crossings or allow the entry of tents, mobile homes, caravans, and other shelter materials.
It described these restrictions as a violation of the ceasefire agreement and international humanitarian law.
According to the office, Israel’s “arbitrary policies” have also contributed to the collapse of 46 damaged buildings during a recent winter storm, resulting in the deaths of 15 Palestinians.
The Gaza media office called for the immediate and safe flow of humanitarian aid and fuel, as well as the entry of temporary shelters and building materials, in line with the ceasefire agreement, to address what it described as an escalating humanitarian disaster in the enclave.
UNRWA Warning
Separately, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said humanitarian conditions in Gaza remain dire more than two months after the ceasefire began.
“In Gaza, conditions remain dire, and humanitarian needs are overwhelming. Families continue to endure severe shortages and widespread destruction,” UNRWA said in a statement posted on X on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, as quoted by TRT World.
Citing the latest report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), UNRWA said around 1.6 million Palestinians in Gaza are facing acute food insecurity.
“Gaza remains in a man-made hunger crisis,” UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said.
The agency said its teams, many of whom are refugees themselves, continue to work on the ground to support affected families despite the severe challenges.
Since October 2023, Israeli military operations in Gaza have killed nearly 71,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 171,000 others, according to Palestinian authorities.
