TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Ministry of Human Rights Affairs (HAM) has deployed a team to search for the three protesters who were reported missing after the mass demonstrations at the end of August 2025.

The three individuals reported missing are Bima Permana Putra, Muhammad Farhan Hamid, and Reno Syaputradewo.

"I have deployed three teams to communicate with the families of the missing individuals," said Minister of Human Rights Affairs Natalius Pigai, as quoted from Antara on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

In addition to communicating with the families, Pigai mentioned that his team is also checking with the local police resorts (polres) and regional police offices (polda) closest to the location where the three individuals went missing.

He hopes that there will be a report on the developments regarding the three missing individuals within a week at the latest.

However, he stated that it is actually too early to conclude that the three individuals are missing, especially if there hasn't been any profiling regarding the roles of these individuals in the demonstrations at the end of August.

According to Pigai, there is also a possibility that the three individuals are hiding because of panic after the post-demonstration turmoil.

"So, let's just wait, but we will continue to strive. Let us pray for the safe return of the individuals to their homes," he expressed.

Prior to this, Director of General Crime Detective of Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, revealed that his institution had known about the three missing protesters after the demonstration through social media.

He stated that Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police had established a missing persons reporting post at the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police General Crime Detective Directorate building.

"We have received this information from social media. Currently, the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police has set up a missing persons reporting post at the Satiaha Prabu Hall, Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police General Crime Detective Directorate building," Wira responded to the press in Jakarta on Monday night of September 15th.

However, according to Wira, there has been no official report to their institution regarding the three missing protesters.

"As of now, for the offline reports, meaning people physically coming to report, no one has come. Then, through WhatsApp, many have only expressed gratitude for the establishment of the post, but in detail, regarding the report of missing persons, there have been none," Wira stated.
