TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s state-owned fuel distributor PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has reduced aviation fuel prices by around 10 percent nationwide starting June 1, 2026, following a decline in global energy prices.
The company said the adjustment applies across Indonesia and reflects lower international benchmark prices used in calculating aviation fuel rates.
At Soekarno-Hatta Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT), the price of aviation fuel fell from Rp24,580 (US$1.50) per liter in May to Rp22,190 per liter in June. At Ngurah Rai AFT in Bali, the price dropped from Rp26,190 to Rp23,480 per liter, while at Kualanamu AFT in North Sumatra, it declined from Rp25,720 to Rp23,090 per liter.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth M.V. Dumatubun said the price adjustment was carried out in accordance with government regulations and established pricing mechanisms.
The aviation fuel price formula is based on average international fuel prices, with the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) Kerosene/Jet serving as the main regional benchmark.
“When global energy prices move downward, the adjustment will be reflected in aviation fuel prices in accordance with the applicable mechanism,” Roberth said in a written statement on Monday, June 1.
He said the lower aviation fuel prices are expected to help reduce airlines’ operating costs and support domestic flight activity. More competitive fuel prices could also contribute to tourism growth, improve connectivity between regions, and stimulate economic activity across the country, he added.
For international flights, aviation fuel prices will continue to follow market conditions and regional competition levels. However, Pertamina said ensuring adequate supplies for domestic aviation remains its top priority in managing fuel distribution.
Pertamina Patra Niaga currently supplies aviation fuel through 72 Aviation Fuel Terminals located across Indonesia, serving both major international gateways and airports in remote regions.
The company said it remains committed to maintaining secure and reliable aviation fuel supplies to support the smooth operation of domestic and international air transportation.
