TEMPO.COJakarta - The head of Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, claims that the nutritious porridge used for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program is free of pork oil. When asked about the results of the sample test conducted by the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) some time ago, Dadan did not provide any answer.

"Ask the head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) about this matter. The food trays used by BGN contains no pork oil. It's all clean," said Dadan in a written message on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

Tempo has contacted the head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, but as of the writing of this news, Haikal has not responded.

Separately, at the BGN Office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Dadan stated that most of the MBG food trays currently in circulation is domestically produced. He mentioned that the production process of the porridge typically uses vegetable oil as the material to make the eating utensils.

"For domestic production, it generally uses vegetable oil, meaning from plants, and we will focus on making this food tray based on domestic industry. For imports, we have coordinated with the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) to ensure that the imported food trays are halal certified," he said as quoted by Antara.

Previously, Tempo obtained documents of the laboratory test results from Weipu China on the MBG porridge imported from China. The test result with number SHA03-25091211-FX-01CnEnR1 proved to contain pork oil.

Weipu analyzed the sample using three methods, namely Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR).

"The main component of processed pork fat is triglycerides," as written in the conclusion of the report. In the Material Safety Data Sheet, the main components of the sample consist of processed base oil, synthetic esters, chlorinated paraffin, processed pork fat, anti-rust additives, and lubricants.
