Indonesia's Finance Ministry Channels Additional Rp76 Trillion to Four Banks

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Finance, has channeled additional Rp76 trillion in funding to four banks as of November 10, 2025. They are Bank Mandiri (Rp25 trillion), BRI (Rp25 trillion), BNI (Rp25 trillion), and Bank Jakarta (Bank DKI) (Rp1 trillion).

During a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday, November 17, 2025, the Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu, reported on the rapid absorption of the initial Rp200 trillion transferred to the banks. “The banks have used Rp167.6 trillion or 84 percent of the total funds," said Febrio, as quoted by Antara on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

In the initial transfer, Bank Mandiri and BRI have disbursed 100 percent of the funds, amounting to Rp55 trillion each. Meanwhile, BNI has disbursed Rp37.4 trillion or 68 percent of the same allocation.

Then BTN has disbursed Rp 10.3 trillion or 41 percent of the total funds of Rp25 trillion that were placed. Meanwhile, BSI has disbursed Rp9.9 trillion or 99 percent of the Rp10 trillion funds it received.

According to Febrio, the realization of the disbursement was also driven by low government deposit interest rates. Government funds were placed at an interest rate of 3.8 percent, or around 80 percent of Bank Indonesia's (BI) policy interest rate.

With interest rates lower than the cost of banking funds in general, banks have more room to reduce their cost of funds, thereby accelerating credit disbursement. This condition allows banks to be more flexible in disbursing credits, especially to productive sectors that need support towards the end of the year.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance disbursed Rp200 trillion to five member banks of the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara) in September 2025.
