TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Investment and Head of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, held a meeting with five Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of major Australian companies to discuss strategic investment plans across various key sectors in Indonesia.
Citing the Antara news agency on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Minister Rosan confirmed his engagement with several business leaders. These included Glenn Keys, Founder and Executive Chair of Aspen Medical; Stephen Wilmot, Chairman of Pure Battery Technologies (PBT); David Paton, Director of Managed Investment at AAM Investment Group; Matthew Boyall, CEO of Cue Energy Resources; and Chris Shepherd, Chief Financial Officer of Nickel Industries Ltd.
The meeting, titled "CEO Meeting 11 November 2025," took place in Sydney, Australia. Rosan reported that Aspen Medical expressed interest in committing capital to the US$1 billion redevelopment project for the Samarinda Regional General Hospital (RSUD). Furthermore, PBT intends to commit US$350 million within the Batang Industrial Park for the development of cathode material production.
Concurrently, AAM Investment Group is establishing a cattle farm in Lampung and actively participates in the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) workforce training program.
Separately, Cue Energy Resources announced plans to augment its existing capital investment within the Indonesian oil and gas sector. Additionally, Nickel Industries Ltd confirmed its intention to expand its extensive nickel processing and refining facilities across Indonesia.
On the same occasion, Rosan explained Indonesia's new regulatory framework, specifically Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025, which concerns Risk-Based Business Licensing Implementation. Through this new regulation, business permits that have passed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and verification can be issued automatically, thereby increasing certainty for business actors.
The Head of BKPM emphasized three key priority sectors for Indonesia-Australia collaborative development that possess substantial growth potential. These vital sectors include the downstreaming of natural resources, encompassing the expansion of electric vehicle battery ecosystems and solar panel production; the new and renewable energy sector; and the health sector.
BKPM notes that economic relations between Indonesia and Australia continue to strengthen. This is evident in Australia's investment value in Indonesia over the past five years, which reached US$2.8 billion, dominated by the mining, hospitality, and healthcare sectors.
Furthermore, the bilateral trade value between the two countries reached US$15.4 billion in 2024, marking a significant increase of 23.5 percent compared to the previous year.
