TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol and the Spanish Civil Guard are escorting the deportation of Steven Lyons, an international fugitive who was arrested in Bali. Lyons arrived at Schipol Amsterdam International Airport, the Netherlands, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

"He has arrived in Amsterdam," said the Secretary of NCB Interpol at the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, when contacted on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Lyons was previously arrested at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on March 28, 2026. He was involved in cases of murder, drugs, and money laundering in Spain and Scotland.

He had just landed from Singapore when he was apprehended by the authorities.

After his arrest, Lyons was temporarily detained in Bali while awaiting deportation.

The 45-year-old man is the leader of the Lyons Crime Family criminal organization. According to Untung, Lyons facilitated the smuggling of various illegal narcotics, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances such as heroin, amphetamine, and other prohibited items into the United Kingdom.

The group was also involved in a prolonged violent conflict with the Daniel criminal organization from the same country. Through joint operations under the title Action Day in Europe on March 27, 2026, authorities succeeded in making 33 arrests in Scotland and 12 arrests in Spain within the criminal organization's network.

Lyons is listed in the Interpol Red Notice issued on March 26, 2026. This arrest is part of an international joint operation known as "Operation Armourum." Law enforcement authorities from Spain and Scotland were involved in this operation.
