TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), the joint Indonesian–Chinese company operating the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail service Whoosh, reported a sharp rise in group travel throughout November 2025. The surge followed the launch of a promotional program offering discounts of up to 20 percent.
KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa said the company previously handled an average of six group trips per day in October. That figure doubled to around 12 groups per day once the discount period began.
“This increase is expected to continue as the Group Promo remains available until the end of November 2025,” Eva said in a written statement on Wednesday, November 19.
Between November 1 and 15, KCIC served 177 groups, totaling 15,123 passengers. The average number of group travelers rose from roughly 360 per day in October to more than 1,000 in November, an increase of about 180 percent.
The 20 percent discount applies to group trips on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while a 10 percent discount is available for departures from Friday to Monday.
The promotion is valid for groups of at least 20 passengers. Bookings can be made via the Whoosh Group Reservation WhatsApp service at 0813-4000-2920 on weekdays between 09:00 AM and 05:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
Eva said she hopes institutions, schools, companies, and community groups can take advantage of the offer for “fast, efficient, and reliable travel.”
