TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Investigators from the Attorney General's Office conducted a raid on the office of PT Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo), located on Jalan Iskandarsyah, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on July 8, 2025.
"Yes, investigators carried out a series of raids at GoTo last Tuesday," said Harli Siregar, Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center, on Friday, July 11, 2025.
The raid was connected to the alleged corruption case involving the procurement of Chromebooks at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology during the 2019 to 2022 period.
Gojek was founded by Nadiem Makarim, the former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. In 2021, Gojek merged with Tokopedia and became GoTo. During the raid, investigators seized several pieces of evidence.
"Currently, the seized evidence is being counted and verified," Harli said.
The Attorney General's Office is investigating allegations of corruption in the Chromebook procurement, which involved a budget of Rp9.9 trillion. Out of this amount, Rp6.3 trillion came from the Special Allocation Fund.
Alongside the GoTo office, three other locations were also raided. These included the homes of two former staff members of Nadiem, Jurist Tan and Fiona Handayani, as well as the residence of Ibrahim Arif, a former consultant to the education ministry.
Investigators suspect that the assessment process was intentionally altered, leading to the selection of Chromebooks. According to the Attorney General’s Office, the initial assessment in April 2025 favored Windows laptops due to their offline capabilities. However, a review conducted in June 2020 later prioritized Chromebooks.
Around 40 witnesses have been questioned in the investigation, including Nadiem, Fiona, and Ibrahim. Jurist Tan has not been questioned yet, as he is currently overseas. So far, no suspects have been officially named.
