After a period of uncertainty, both ADOR and the group’s five members have reached an agreement to continue their exclusive contract, paving the way for NewJeans to return to the music scene.
Known for their fresh Y2K-inspired concept and catchy, easy-listening hits like Attention, Hype Boy, and Super Shy, NewJeans has injected new energy into the Korean music industry. The group consists of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, each bringing their own unique charm and personality to the stage.

1. Minji
As the eldest member of NewJeans, born on May 7, 2004, Minji is celebrated for her elegant and poised visuals. She serves as both a vocalist and dancer for the group and is a proud graduate of Hanlim Multi Art School, a prestigious institution known for producing future K-pop stars.
Before debuting, Kim Minji trained as a trainee at Source Music starting in middle school before transferring to ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE.
She first drew attention when she appeared alongside Hanni in a cameo for BTS’ Permission to Dance music video in 2021, a clear signal that Minji was poised to make her mark in the K-pop world.
2. Hanni
Hanni, whose full name is Hanni Pham (Phm Ngc Hân), was born on October 6, 2004, in Melbourne, Australia.
Renowned for her impressive language skills, she is fluent in English, Korean, and Vietnamese. In addition to being a vocalist and dancer, Hanni has showcased her creativity by co-writing two of NewJeans’ hit songs, Hype Boy and OMG.
Before joining ADOR, Hanni was an active member of the AEMINA dance crew in Australia and successfully passed the global BigHit audition in 2019.
Like Minji, she also appeared in BTS’ Permission to Dance music video before her official debut. Her versatility, talent, and stage charisma have earned her the nickname “the all-rounder” among fans.
3. Danielle
Danielle, born Danielle Marsh on April 11, 2005, in Newcastle, Australia, grew up in a Korean-Australian family. She is beloved for her cheerful personality, radiant smile, and uniquely gentle voice.
Interestingly, Danielle, also known by her Korean name Mo Ji Hye, has been active in the entertainment industry since childhood. She appeared on several Korean TV shows, including Rainbow Kindergarten (2011) and Shinhwa Broadcast (2012).
With her extensive on-camera experience, it’s no surprise that Danielle stands out as one of the most expressive and captivating members during every NewJeans performance.
4. Haerin
Born in Seoul, South Korea, on May 15, 2006, Kang Haerin, known simply as Haerin, is admired for her mysterious charm and striking visuals. Her large, cat-like eyes and gentle expression have captivated fans worldwide. She serves as both a vocalist and dancer in NewJeans.
Before joining ADOR, Haerin studied traditional Korean music, Pansori, which helped refine her vocal skills and stage presence. Following her debut, she was swiftly appointed as a global ambassador for Dior’s Fashion, Jewelry, and Beauty lines, further cementing her status as a rising star in the industry.
5. Hyein
As the youngest member of NewJeans, Lee Hyein, born on April 21, 2008, has already captured attention with her impressive height and graceful presence. Despite her young age, Hyein has built an extensive and remarkable career.
Before joining NewJeans, Hyein was part of the children’s girl group USSO Girl in 2017, performing under the stage name U.Jeong. She was also active in the music collective and YouTube channel Play With Me Club, formed by PocketTV, before “graduating” from the group in May 2021.
Following her debut with NewJeans, Hyein gained global recognition as the youngest brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton at just 14 years old.
With their signature Y2K-inspired style, minimalist visuals, and songs that resonate with Gen Z, NewJeans has carved out a “fresh yet timeless” image in the Korean music scene.
