TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority announced that the first Central General Hospital (RSUP) in IKN will be operating soon. The healthcare facility is located in the Core Central Government Area (KIPP) and is the first central hospital owned by the Ministry of Health on the island of Kalimantan.
Tirta Asprimi Angraen, the Head of Medical Services at RSUP IKN, said that the hospital prioritizes two services: the treatment of heart and nerve diseases. "RSUP IKN is not only a healthcare facility but also a symbol of the state's commitment to building a city centered on humanity," said Tirta in a written statement on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
As an initial step, he said, dozens of Civil Servants (ASN) from the Ministry of Health have participated in a training program held at the IKN Coordinating Ministry Office. This activity aims to introduce the basic values of governance, the direction of IKN development, and prepare healthcare human resources that will pioneer in this new area.
Tirta added that this hospital will become the 39th vertical hospital owned by the Ministry of Health and the first in Kalimantan. "We were warmly welcomed in Nusantara. RSUP IKN will strengthen the national healthcare service system in central Indonesia," he said.
The Deputy for Social and Community Empowerment of the IKN Authority, Bimo, stated that the presence of the Ministry of Health team is an initial example of cross-institutional integration in building the governance of future cities. "They will be pioneers, not only in healthcare services but also in educating the healthy lifestyle of all IKN residents," said Bimo.
He stated that the presence of RSUP IKN marks the beginning of operating national-scale public services in IKN. In addition to serving the community in the core government area, this hospital will also provide care to residents in Sepaku and other areas around IKN.
