TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The issue regarding the authenticity of former President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) diploma continues to surface. Most recently, hundreds of people from TPUA (The Defender Team of Ulama and Activists) visited the Faculty of Forestry at Gadjah Mada University or UGM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
On that occasion, they, represented by Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Tifauzia Tiasuma, and Syukri Fadoli, met with the university to directly request evidence of Jokowi's diploma on campus.
"The team of ulama and activists from Jakarta is present to clarify the allegations of former President Jokowi's fake diploma," said Syukri Fadoli on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Reasons Why Jokowi's Diploma is Questioned
Doubts about the authenticity of Jokowi's diploma first arose after a former lecturer at Mataram University, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, doubted the authenticity of Jokowi's diploma and thesis. Rismon argued that the use of the Times New Roman font in the documents did not exist in the 1980s to 1990s.
He expressed this in a video titled "Joko Widodo's Fake Diploma Based on Font and Operating System Analysis," uploaded on YouTube on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He argued that this is strong evidence to doubt the authenticity of the document.
University Reveals Evidence of Jokowi's Graduation from UGM
When hundreds of people questioned the authenticity of Jokowi's diploma, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) revealed evidence of records from former President Joko Widodo's enrollment until graduation from the Faculty of Forestry.
"So we stated that in our capacity, UGM provided information that Jokowi was registered from the beginning to the end of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi within the Gadjah Mada community. And we have evidence, letters, and documents at the Faculty of Forestry," said Wening Udasmoro, UGM's Vice Rector I, at the Central Building on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Gadjah Mada University stated that Joko Widodo is an alumnus of UGM's Faculty of Forestry. Jokowi completed the entire study process, starting in 1980 with student number 80/34416/KT/1681 and graduated on November 5, 1985.
Original Diploma is in Jokowi's Possession
Dean of UGM's Faculty of Forestry, Sigit Sunarta, stated that they have complete documentation of Joko Widodo's studies at the alma mater. However, he mentioned that the original diploma has been handed to the person concerned.
"We only have a copy. The original thesis, because in the process of making the thesis, there are copies left behind that we have, and then the copies that students take, they already have," said Sigit.
Jokowi Will Report Those Who Claim His Diploma is Fake
Former President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, stated that he is considering legal action against parties who continue to question the authenticity of his diploma from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta. The father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized that those who accuse his UGM diploma of being fake are the ones who have to prove it.
"Yes, it is being considered for further assessment by the lawyer because it has been conveyed by UGM's Rector, and also mentioned by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, it's all already clear," said Jokowi when met by reporters at his residence in Sumber, Solo, Central Java, on Friday, April 11, 2025.
