TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that there is a high chance of probability that rain will fall in all of Jakarta areas today, Thursday, November 13, 2025. In their weather forecast, BMKG revealed there is a potential for rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, in the Thousand Islands, and light rain in mainland Jakarta.
The air temperature varies between 24-30 degrees Celsius for East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and West Jakarta, or 25-30 degrees for Central Jakarta, 25-29 degrees for North Jakarta, and 26-28 degrees for the Thousand Islands. The highest air humidity could possibly reach 90 percent, namely in East Jakarta and South Jakarta.
For the surrounding areas of Jakarta, the weather forecast quoted from the BMKG website also states the potential for scattered light rain in Bogor, Bekasi, and Depok. The same goes for Tangerang and the City of Tangerang.
In the Weather Outlook for the Period of November 11 to 17, 2025, BMKG estimates that the potential for the growth of rain clouds in various areas of Indonesia is still significant. Some factors influencing this include an increase in sea surface temperature anomalies in the eastern Indian Ocean near Indonesian waters, which are warming.
"This increases the flow of water vapor from the Indian Ocean to western Indonesia, thus supporting the formation of rain clouds in that region," as stated by BMKG.
Meanwhile, the weak La Nina phenomenon indicates an increase in the supply of water vapor from the Pacific Ocean to Indonesia. The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), which is currently in phase 6 (Western Pacific), is also spatially predicted to be active in most parts of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, and parts of Kalimantan, which can increase the potential for rain in those areas.
However, BMKG does not list Jakarta as an area that needs to be on alert for heavy to very heavy rain throughout the period of November 11 to 17.
