TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the Greater Jakarta area: Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas, will be mostly partly cloudy today, Monday, October 20, 2025. Some of these areas may experience potential rain in the afternoon, evening, or tonight.

According to the weather forecast on BMKG's official website bmkg.go.id and BMKG's official Instagram, partly cloudy weather will cover the entire Jakarta and Thousand Islands area. However, there is a possibility of light rain in West Jakarta at 19:00, and in South and East Jakarta between 16:00 and 19:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

Overall, the air temperature in the Jakarta area is expected to range from 25-32 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds around 1-12 kilometers per hour.

For areas around Jakarta, BMKG predicts light rain with the possibility of thunder in Bogor Regency and Bogor City between 13:00 and 22:00 later. Similar weather is also expected in Depok City, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City between 16:00 and 22:00.

The air temperature in Bogor Regency is 19-34 degrees Celsius, while in other areas it is 20-34 degrees. The blowing wind is estimated to be 5-10 kilometers per hour.

The potential for light rain is also present in Tangerang Regency and City, as well as South Tangerang City between 16:00 and 19:00 after mostly partly cloudy to cloudy weather dominates the morning and afternoon. The air temperature in these three areas is estimated to range from 23-32 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of 1-15 kilometers per hour.

Previously, BMKG revealed that weather conditions during the transition of seasons from early to mid-October are characterized by hot and scorching weather in many areas of Indonesia. This is supported by the combination of the apparent movement of the sun, which in this month has shifted slightly south of the equator, causing the central and southern parts of Indonesia to receive intense heating.

Additionally, the influence of the Australian Monsoon also contributes to the increase in air temperature in several regions in Indonesia. According to BMKG, these conditions are likely to persist until the end of October or early November 2025. "However, the potential for locally occurring rain may still occur in the afternoon and/or evening in some areas."
