TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali's Immigration Office deported a Pakistani national, WH, who was accused of fraud after entering Indonesia under the guise of an investor.
"The foreigner was unable to identify the type and location of his business in Indonesia," said Head of Class I Immigration Office in Denpasar, R. Haryo Sakti, on Monday.
The Pakistani national held a limited stay permit (ITAS) issued for investors. However, when immigration officers patrolled the Dharma Dewata immigration office in the Padangsambian area of Denpasar, the 42-year-old man failed to provide details about his investment in Indonesia.
For his action, WH is suspected of violating Article 71 (a) in conjunction with Article 75 paragraph (1) of Immigration Law Number 6 of 2011, which states that foreign nationals are required to provide necessary information regarding their identity and/or that of their family and to comply with statutory provisions.
Meanwhile, Article 75 paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law rules that immigration authority is authorized to take action against foreigners in Indonesia who engage in dangerous activities and are reasonably suspected of endangering public security and order, or who disrespect or disobey laws and regulations.
WH was ultimately deported via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali, on an airline bound for Kuala Lumpur-Lahore.
Haryo stated that his office would continue to monitor the presence and activities of foreigners in the Denpasar work area, which includes Denpasar City, Gianyar, Bangli, and parts of Badung Regency.
He encouraged the public who are aware of any alleged immigration violations by foreigners to submit reports through the official complaint channels of the Denpasar Class I TPI Immigration Office, one of which is via the WhatsApp complaint number at 0812-4618-3838.
