TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Unlike usual, YouTube has launched a yearly recap feature called YouTube Recap, commonly referred to as Wrapped. The video-sharing platform has joined the trend of popular year-end recaps among Spotify users and some other digital platforms.
This time, YouTube has released the Recap on its main platform. This means that, unlike before, the service is no longer limited to YouTube Music, which used non-music content data. The recap feature has started rolling out since the beginning of the week, and today, Friday, December 5, 2025, it is accessible to users in Indonesia and other countries.
The YouTube Recap feature can be found directly on the YouTube homepage or through the You tab. Users can summarize various viewing activities throughout 2025 based on each user's viewing history. Quoting GSM Arena on December 3, YouTube mentioned that the recap was designed to highlight users' interests and the moments they explored throughout the year.
Users will receive 12 summaries based on the most-watched video type. These summaries will cover favorite channels, top interests, changes in viewing patterns, and personality categories. For music listeners, the Recap also includes summaries of the most-played artists and songs. Additional information, such as top genres, favorite podcasts, and a glimpse of international music-listening habits, is also available through the YouTube Music app.
