TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reported the outcome of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, to President Prabowo Subianto. Gibran met with President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Gibran delivered a comprehensive report on the discussions, achievements, and follow-up to the international cooperation explored in the forum.
"Upon arriving in Jakarta, VP Gibran reported the results of the G20 Summit to President Prabowo to follow up on various agreements and international cooperation that had been discussed," Teddy said in an official statement on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Teddy mentioned that during his participation in several G20 sessions, Gibran emphasized Indonesia's stance on developing the global technology ecosystem and its other priority agendas. "Gibran also emphasized Indonesia's commitment to promoting technology access, equality, and global partnerships based on justice," he said.
Furthermore, Teddy continued, in addition to delivering the report, Gibran also conveyed greetings from world leaders he had met to President Prabowo, "as a mark of respect and close diplomatic relations," he added.
Gibran's presence at the G20 Summit took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 22-23, 2025. Gibran attended plenary sessions and important meetings addressing strategic issues such as food security, digital economy, and artificial intelligence.
Gibran delivered speeches in three sessions. In the first session on sustainable economic issues, the role of trade and finance in development, and debt issues in developing countries, Gibran spoke about financial inclusion that can minimize inequality.
In the second session, Gibran promoted the concept of sustainable resilience. Due to its location in the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia experiences more than 3,000 disasters each year. For Indonesia, resilience is not just a slogan, but a reality and a necessity that must be confronted. During the third session, the vice president discussed artificial intelligence (AI) and the critical minerals that are essential to the transition to high-tech energy and industry.
