TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police Headquarters dispatched aid to flood victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Logistics, medical supplies, and safety equipment were airlifted using two police aircraft from the Air Police Command Headquarters in Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang.
National Police Public Relations Bureau Chief, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the aid was sent by air to expedite distribution to the victims. "Two aircraft, CN and Fokker types, are departing today, carrying various logistics and personnel," Truno said at the Air Police Command Headquarters on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Truno mentioned that 1,500 aid were sent to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, respectively. The assistance includes special needs for mothers and children, school uniforms, school bags, medications, fast food, folding beds, mineral water, insect repellents, blankets, and life jackets.
In addition, Truno stated that the Regional Police have deployed thousands of personnel to assist the disaster-affected residents. A total of 4,550 personnel were deployed within the Aceh Regional Police, 1,754 within the North Sumatra Regional Police, and 2,743 within the West Sumatra Regional Police. Aside from the personnel, the Regional Police in Sumatra also deployed several helicopters and ships.
The two police aircraft took off from Pondok Cabe around 7:30 AM. Each aircraft carried a maximum of five tons of logistics. According to Truno, the National Police will send additional air assistance after this initial batch.
