TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Annual Session today, August 15, 2025, at the Senayan Parliament Complex in Jakarta. The head of state will deliver two speeches during this event.
According to Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Prabowo's speeches are scheduled for two sessions. The first will begin at 9:00 a.m. Jakarta time (WIB), and the second at 2:30 p.m.
In his morning address, Prabowo is expected to present the government's performance over the first 300 days of his administration, which began in October 2024. The afternoon session will see the president introduce the draft of the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) to the Parliament.
Public Encouraged to Watch Speeches
Hasan encouraged the public to follow both presidential speeches through live broadcasts, a request that aligns with the guidelines for the 80th Indonesian Independence Day commemoration issued by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi on August 12, 2025.
"Therefore, all private institutions and the entire community are encouraged to follow the live broadcasts of both speeches," Hasan said on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that Prabowo and his team have prepared the speech manuscripts, which will emphasize the president's vision and mission, known as "Asta Cita," along with his priority programs.
Hadi also mentioned that Prabowo has been physically preparing for the session, which will be attended by several former presidents and vice presidents. "Typically, the president's preparation involves swimming," Prasetyo said on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Former Presidents and Key Officials to Attend
Several former presidents have confirmed their attendance at the MPR Annual Session, including the 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and the 7th President, Joko Widodo. The 5th President, Megawati Soekarnoputri, is still awaiting confirmation.
The MPR has also extended invitations to leaders of state institutions, ministers of the "Red and White Cabinet," and other high-ranking officials, as well as the chairpersons of political parties represented in the Parliament.
First Attendance for President Prabowo
This year's MPR Annual Session marks Prabowo's first attendance since his inauguration. Secretary-General of the MPR Siti Fauziah announced that the assembly will also present a video highlighting the performance achievements of Prabowo Subianto, the House of Representatives (DPR), and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) during the session.
