TEMPO.COJakarta - Indonesian Minister of Manpower Yassierli has responded to the recent raid and arrests of several officials at his ministry by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He expressed concern and regret over the alleged acts of corruption.

"I respect the legal process being carried out by the KPK and support the measures taken against corruption perpetrators. For me and the entire Ministry of Manpower, this is a heavy blow," Yassierli told reporters at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Yassierli emphasized that since his appointment approximately ten months ago, his priority has been to improve the Ministry's integrity, professionalism, and public service. He affirmed that, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive, there is a zero-tolerance policy for corrupt behavior within the Ministry.

As a preventative measure, Yassierli has required all officials and staff to sign an integrity pact. This pact, he continued, stipulates that every official agrees to be dismissed if found guilty of corruption.

The KPK's operation led to the arrest of Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, also known as Noel, along with 19 other individuals. According to KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Cahyanto, the sting operation was connected to the alleged extortion of companies seeking Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or K3 certification.

"Extortion of companies related to OHS certification processing," Fitroh said in a brief message on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

According to a Ministry official, the anti-corruption commission's operation began in the early morning. Several Director-General offices on the seventh floor of the Ministry of Manpower building have been sealed by the KPK.

As observed by Tempo this afternoon, four police officers were guarding the courtyard of the Ministry of Manpower building. Additionally, three cars were present, one of which had a visible police license plate.
