TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently tracing the directives that have influenced the South Sumatra Representative of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in altering the audit results of Muara Enim Regency Government. The investigation goes through the alleged bribery case related to the conditioning of the audit.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the investigation was initiated after the investigators found an initial agreement regarding a certain amount to alter the audit results of Muara Enim Regency Government. "This then became the subject of investigation by the investigators, including the involvement of private parties," Budi said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Budi explained that a private party named Augusz Dewanggara, also known as Angga, allegedly communicated with parties in the Supreme Audit Agency to alter the audit results. In this case, Angga has been named as a bribery suspect. "The investigators will also delve into and trace the communications conducted by the private party, namely Mr. AGG (Angga), with the internal BPK," he said.
In addition to Angga, KPK has also placed the same status on Muara Enim Regent Edison; Secretary of the Muara Enim Department of Education and Culture, Abi Nurwardani; a close associate of Edison, Adi Triyadi; PT MSA marketer Cory Erin Hardi; Director of PT MSA Fika Nur Alawi; and the civil servants (ASN) of BPK Representative of South Sumatra, Titin Rita Lestari.
The investigation of this case stemmed from the audit findings of the South Sumatra Representative of the Supreme Audit Agency on the procurement project of smart boards in the Muara Enim Regency Department of Education and Culture. BPK found several irregularities in the project that used the 2025 budget.
Fearing that the findings would alter the audit opinion on the regional financial report, Muara Enim Regent Edison instructed Rusdi Hairullah, the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs at the Regional Secretariat of Muara Enim Regency, to address Angga's findings.
Rusdi and Angga then lobbied BPK officials to ensure that the audit opinion on the financial report of Muara Enim Regency Government remains unqualified, as it was in the previous year.
"AGG then conveyed the need for a fee to alter the audit results, approximately Rp1.6 billion, or to be taken from 1 percent of the budget ceiling for infrastructure work or 2 percent of the procurement budget from Muara Enim Regency Government," said Acting Director of KPK's Investigation Division Taufik Achmad Husein on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
