TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) offers a train ticket discount of up to 45% for airport train users to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day. Joni Martinus, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, confirmed that the "Independence Day Discount" promotion is valid exclusively on August 17, 2025.
"Passengers traveling the longest routes, such as the full journey from the city center to Soekarno-Hatta Airport or vice versa, can enjoy a 45% discount," stated Joni in a press release on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. This discount is applicable for trips between stations of Manggarai, BNI City, or Duri and the airport station.
For passengers traveling medium distances between stations, a 20% discount is available. This discount applies to trips from Manggarai, BNI City, or Duri to Rawa Buaya or Batu Ceper, and vice versa. It is also valid for journeys between the airport station and Rawa Buaya or Batu Ceper.
Joni explained that this promotion is a gesture of appreciation from KAI Commuter to its customers and a way to participate in the national celebration. "We want to provide the public with the opportunity to celebrate independence with a journey that is free from traffic jams, comfortable, and of course, more cost-effective," he said.
He added that passengers interested in this discounted fare can book their tickets through the official application starting seven days before the departure date, which is today. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the vending machines at the stations.
Joni expressed his hope that the public will take full advantage of this promotion. He emphasized KAI Commuter's ongoing commitment to improving service quality for all its users.
"With the Independence Day Discount program, KAI Commuter hopes to liven up the Independence Day celebrations and provide a more enjoyable and efficient travel experience for the public," Joni concluded.
