TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) is urging the public to use public transportation to attend the 212 Reunion at Silang Monumen Nasional (Monas), Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The police are anticipating traffic congestion in the afternoon on several streets around Monas.
"We advise every participant who will attend the 212 reunion to use public transportation," said the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Grand Commissioner (Kombes) Komarudin, to reporters on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The use of public transportation is recommended considering the busy activities in Jakarta, especially during the evening rush hour. "This way, we can anticipate the limited parking spaces available and the circulation of public activities during the rush hour," said Komarudin.
Polda Metro Jaya will deploy 1,214 security personnel to secure this event. The police are anticipating the arrival of many people from outside the city at 67 points in Ring 1, Ring 2, and Ring 3.
"Including intersections that are quite crowded, such as Harmoni, Tugu Tani, and Sarinah, which may be affected," said Komarudin.
The police estimate that the crowd will start arriving in the afternoon, before the event begins with congregational Maghrib prayer around 18:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Traffic engineering will be carried out situationally.
The 212 Grand Reunion is being held again this year, with the theme 'Revolution of Morals to Save the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia from Criminals and Free Palestine from Occupiers.' The event organizers estimate that it will be attended by thousands of people from various elements of society.
