TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone attacks on several US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The targets of the attacks reportedly included fuel support docks for the US Navy fleet at the Al Ahmadi Port in Kuwait, and the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
According to Anadolu, the IRGC also claimed to have destroyed a US intelligence data center in Bahrain, as well as US military signal and communication centers in Kuwait.
Iran-US Continue to Exchange Attacks
Reported by Ynetnews, the United States and Iran have once again launched attacks, expanding the conflict to the Gulf region. Iran admitted to attacking US military, intelligence, and fuel logistical support facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait. Meanwhile, Bahrain stated that its air defense system successfully intercepted several Iranian air attacks on Saturday.
The Kingdom of Bahrain, which is the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, has repeatedly activated its air defense system since the recent escalation of the conflict.
The Iranian attacks occurred after the United States conducted military operations against Iran for seven consecutive nights. The US military stated that the operations were aimed "to continue to weaken Iran's military capabilities." Iranian media later reported explosions in several regions, including Bandar Abbas, Lar, Ahvaz, Sirik, Qeshm, and Yazd.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) focused its latest operation on Iran's military logistics network, surveillance systems, coastal infrastructure, and related capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz. Washington stated that the attacks were intended to reduce Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping routes.
In retaliation, Iran expanded its attacks on targets related to the United States in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and several other areas in the region.
Iran Claims Destruction of Intelligence Center
In addition to military air bases and docks, Iran also claimed to have destroyed the Batelco intelligence data center in Bahrain. Previously, Iranian state media referred to the target as Bahrain's main artificial intelligence center. However, in a recent statement, the IRGC identified the target as the Batelco intelligence data center.
The official Iranian news agency, IRNA, stated that the facility was used by the United States to support its military operations. "The facility, which the Great Satan used to guide the enemy in committing war crimes, has been completely destroyed by ballistic missiles and dozens of drones." Iran also claimed to have attacked a US military drone storage warehouse in Bahrain.
The recent escalation occurred despite the United States and Iran having previously agreed to a memorandum of understanding, mediated by Pakistan last June, to end the war and pave the way for a long-term peace agreement. However, the exchange of attacks between the two countries continues, now spreading to Gulf countries where US military assets are located.
