TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spain's victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup delivered both sporting glory and a major financial reward. As world champions, Spain earned US$50 million in prize money, the largest share of FIFA's tournament prize pool awarded to the champions.
As Yahoo! Sports reported, the biggest edition in tournament history also offers the largest prize pool ever. A total of US$655 million will be distributed among the 48 participating teams, representing a 50 percent increase from the previous tournament. The payouts range from US$9 million to US$50 million, depending on each team's progress in the competition.
According to FIFA, in addition to the official prize money, each qualified team will receive US$1.5 million to cover preparation costs. Therefore, all participating member associations are guaranteed at least US$10.5 million for participating in next year's tournament.
