Gold Prices Projected to Hit Rp2.39 Million per Gram Next Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - World gold prices closed at US$4,001.30 per troy ounce in Saturday morning trading, November 8, 2025. Currency and commodity observer Ibrahim Assuaibi said world gold prices continue to fluctuate.

He predicted that world gold prices could rise to reach US$4,133 per troy ounce in trading next week. However, if world gold prices weaken, the decline could reach US$3,837 per troy ounce.

Ibrahim says that one factor affecting the fluctuation of world gold prices is the political situation in the United States. "The U.S. government shutdown has been ongoing for six weeks. This is the longest in American history. And it is likely to continue if there is no agreement between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party," Ibrahim said in his statement on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Ibrahim stated that the shutdown of the U.S. government has implications for the country's employment conditions. On the other hand, the absence of government-released data also creates uncertainty about the U.S. and global economy. As a result, technology-based stock and commodity emitters have plummeted. According to Ibrahim, this has led people to shift to gold as a hedge.

Furthermore, the Director of PT Traze Andalan Futures determined that the decline in the price of gold on the global market prompted central banks from various countries to purchase the commodity and accumulate it as foreign exchange reserves. "Thus, the supply and demand are not balanced. There's high demand and low supply," Ibrahim explained.

Meanwhile, domestically, Ibrahim predicted that the price of precious metals could reach Rp2,390,000 per gram next week. On the other hand, if it declines, the price of precious metals could fall to Rp2,200,000 per gram.

In the closing of trading this week, the price of gold bars from PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) was recorded at Rp 2,299,000 per gram on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The price of the commodity began to rise after dropping to Rp2,260,000 per gram on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
