TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Valve Corporation, through its Steam platform, has officially announced that Dune: Awakening will be released globally on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Players who purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate edition of the game will be granted early access, allowing them to start playing on June 5.
In a statement published on May 26, 2025, Valve confirmed that the game would go live on Steam at 16:00 CEST or 10:00 AM EDT on both June 5 and June 10, depending on the player’s access.
The company also confirmed that the Base, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions of the game will be available for purchase starting from the official release. Those who pre-purchase any version, including the base edition, will receive the pre-order bonus item titled Terrarium of Muad’Dib.
While Valve has published launch times for various regions worldwide, the schedule does not specifically mention Indonesia. Nonetheless, the game remains accessible and available for purchase in the country.
Valve also clarified that pre-loading will be made available 24 hours before the early access period begins on June 4. However, only those who pre-order the Deluxe or Ultimate editions will be eligible for early access. Players who purchase the base edition will need to wait until the official launch date.
Dune: Awakening draws inspiration from Frank Herbert’s legendary 1965 science fiction novel Dune, which has since been adapted into two major films, with a third—Dune: Messiah—currently in development. In the game, players assume the role of Paul Atreides, also known as Muad’Dib, and follow his journey on the desert planet of Arrakis. Along the way, players will encounter the massive and iconic sandworm, Shai-Hulud, and interact with the world’s harsh environment and deep lore.
Ahead of the game’s release, Valve plans to host a live broadcast on May 28 that will provide a brief overview of the game’s content and features. The company noted that players who join after the early access window will still find “many new worlds or fresh servers to join on June 10.”
To support gameplay, Valve also shared the system requirements. The game will require a Windows 10 64-bit operating system or newer, with at least an Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a graphics card such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon 5600XT (6GB).
A minimum of 60 GB of storage space will also be necessary. For a smoother experience, a higher-end setup featuring an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, paired with a GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB) or Radeon 6700XT (12GB), and 75 GB of storage space is recommended.
Currently, the game is available for pre-purchase. The base edition is priced at approximately US$36 (Rp579,000), the Deluxe edition at around US$50 (Rp799,000), and the Ultimate edition at roughly US$64 (Rp1,019,000).
