GENERAL Manager Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Eva Chairunnisa, stated that KCIC has canceled the Whoosh high-speed train journeys scheduled from 8:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) to the last scheduled trip at 9:25 PM WIB. Eva mentioned that KCIC resumed its operations at 10:21 PM WIB.

KCIC made this decision after a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 7:55 PM WIB in Bekasi Regency on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Eva stated that the earthquake notification was detected through the earthquake early warning system installed along the Whoosh route. "KCIC emphasizes the operational safety of Whoosh amidst the earthquake that occurred in the West Java region and its surroundings as the top priority," Eva said, as quoted in a press release on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

During that period, KCIC canceled the train departures from Halim Station with train numbers G1057, G1059, G1061, and G1063. Additionally, departures from Tegalluar Station consisted of trains numbered G1058, G1060, G1062, and G1064.

As a result of the cancellations, KCIC is offering refunds to the passengers. According to Eva, passengers can claim their refunds at the station ticket counters until 3 days after the scheduled departure. "Passengers affected by the cancellation will receive a 100% ticket fee refund or cash transfer," Eva said.

In addition to providing full refunds, KCIC directed the affected passengers at Padalarang Station to continue their journey using the Pangandaran Train bound for Gambir.

KCIC took this step for the safety of the passengers. "KCIC also coordinated with partner online transportation providers who have collaborated to maximize services," she said.
