TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo predicts 4.9 to 5.7 percent economic growth for Indonesia in 2026. He also estimates a range of 5.1 to 5.9 percent growth in 2027.
"Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that the national economy is resilient amid a series of global upheavals. Stability is assured, and the growth is relatively high. The key is only one: synergy," he said at the Annual Meeting of Bank Indonesia in Jakarta on Friday, November 28, 2025.
According to Perry, synergy between the government and Bank Indonesia is the key to driving higher growth, both in terms of demand and supply.
As for this year, Perry predicts that overall economic growth will be in the range of 4.7-5.5 percent. Since the beginning of the year until now, Indonesia's economic growth has not reached 5.5 percent.
In the first quarter, Indonesia posted 4.87 percent growth year on year. This is followed by 5.12 percent and 5.04 percent during the second and third quarter, respectively.
Previously, CORE Indonesia projected that Indonesia's economic growth in 2026 would be in the range of 4.9-5.1 percent. CORE views this projection as an indication that Indonesia's economy in 2026 will not experience accelerated growth, although it remains relatively resilient.
CORE Indonesia's Executive Director Mohammad Faisal mentioned the absence of optimistic signals for 2026. In fact, he predicts that the condition may be worse than in 2025.
"Net exports will decrease, but there will be a marginal increase in government spending, household consumption, and investment. However, because the increase is marginal, it may not compensate for the narrowing net exports," he said in an official statement on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
