TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is guaranteed to secure two championship titles from the Australian Open 2025 Super 500 badminton tournament after securing all-Indonesian final matches in both the men's and women's doubles categories. These four pairings will compete for the prestigious championship titles on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

In the women's doubles competition, the pair of Rachel Allessya Rose / Febi Setianingrum, competing in the first match on Court 1 at Sydney Olympic Park, Australia, overcame the American duo Francesca Corbett / Jennie Gai following a sustained contest that lasted 50 minutes. Their decisive victory concluded with straight sets: 21-18, 21-19.

Subsequently, on Court 2, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma / Meilysa Trias Puspitasari defeated the Japanese pair Ririna Hiramoto / Kokona Ishikawa in a three-game battle. After conceding the opening game, Febriana / Meilysa demonstrated resilience, ultimately claiming the next two games. This intense match extended for 1 hour and 22 minutes, concluding with a score line of 19-21, 21-11, 21-12.

The success of Febriana / Meilysa establishes the all-Indonesian final encounter. Intriguingly, Meilysa will now face her former doubles partner, Rachel, as both athletes contend for their initial titles at a BWF Super 500 tournament. Previously, when they were a partnership, they successfully claimed the Super 100 Odisha Masters 2023 and the Super 300 Orleans Masters 2024 titles.

In the men's doubles event, Raymond Indra / Nikolaus Joaquin executed an upset by defeating the second-seeded Malaysian pair, Goh Sze Fei / Nur Izzuddin, in a straight-sets encounter that spanned just 42 minutes. They secured victory in their first official meeting with a final score of 21-15, 21-15.

The achievement of Raymond / Nikolaus in reaching the final ensures the all-Indonesian final in the men's doubles category. This was guaranteed because the two other Indonesian teams, Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama / Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, faced each other in the remaining semi-final match.

Fajar / Fikri and Sabar / Reza delivered a competitive performance. Playing as the second match on Court 2, the two pairings, meeting officially for the third time in their careers, contested fiercely in a three-game match that lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes, concluding with a score of 21-15, 19-21, 21-16.

This result extended Fajar / Fikri's head-to-head advantage to 3-0. They had previously defeated Sabar / Reza at the Japan Open 2025 and China Open 2025 tournaments in July.

Fajar / Fikri, who formed their partnership in July and immediately became champions at the Super 1000 China Open 2025 in their debut, now have the chance to secure their second championship title at the Australian Open 2025. Despite their initial success, they narrowly missed adding to their trophy count after losing in the finals of the Korea Open 2025, Denmark Open 2025, and French Open 2025.
